Raised in the Heart of Our Home

All Capalique puppies are born and raised within the main living areas of our home, including the kitchen and family spaces. From their very first day, they are immersed in the sights, sounds, and routines of normal household life.

This constant exposure to everyday activities helps puppies develop confidence and familiarity with the environments they will encounter in their future homes.

At approximately two weeks of age, their eyes begin to open and they start interacting more actively with their surroundings. By four weeks of age, individual personalities become increasingly apparent, allowing us to observe developing traits such as confidence, curiosity, sociability, resilience, engagement, and overall temperament.

These early observations help us gain a thorough understanding of each puppy as an individual.

Early Neurological Stimulation & Development

From birth, we implement structured Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) through gentle, controlled daily handling.

Research suggests that early neurological enrichment may support resilience, confidence, stress tolerance, and overall developmental stability during the critical early weeks of life.

Even before their eyes are open, puppies are safely introduced to mild sensory experiences, including different textures, temperatures, and environmental variations. As they mature, carefully managed age-appropriate challenges are introduced to encourage adaptability, confidence, and emotional balance.

Our approach focuses on creating positive experiences that support healthy mental and physical development while respecting each puppy's individual stage of growth.

Early Socialisation & Imprinting

Socialisation begins from an early age and forms a key part of our puppy-rearing programme.

From approximately three weeks of age, puppies are handled daily by a variety of people, including men, women, and children, under close supervision. These interactions help build confidence and encourage the friendly, people-focused temperament that makes English Cockers such exceptional companions.

We also begin introducing early recall foundations by pairing the word "come" with feeding times and natural movement towards people. This creates a positive association that can be built upon by owners once puppies join their new families.

Throughout their development, puppies are gradually exposed to a range of everyday household sounds, including:

• Age-appropriate obstacles and enrichment activities

Temperament Assessment & Puppy Matching

At approximately seven weeks of age, each puppy undergoes a structured temperament assessment with the support of experienced canine professionals.

Combined with our daily observations throughout the rearing process, this allows us to build a detailed understanding of each puppy's individual personality, confidence level, energy, trainability, and social characteristics.

We firmly believe that successful placements are achieved through careful matching rather than simply allowing puppies to be chosen based on appearance alone.

Our assessments help us place each puppy into the home best suited to its temperament, ensuring the greatest opportunity for a successful lifelong partnership between puppy and family.

Early Training Foundations

From approximately six weeks of age, we begin introducing gentle, age-appropriate training and learning experiences.
